It does not always have to be too formal, and this panama hat with a leather band proves it.<\/p>\n

Don’t get me wrong \u2014 I like an elegant panama hat very much too, but there isn’t always an occasion for one.<\/p>\n

What is good about this hat is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously, so you can wear it any day. (Unless it rains, of course.)<\/p>\n

I am a happy customer of this type of hat myself: as a (former) redhead I still burn quickly in summer, unless I put on sunscreen or wear a hat.<\/p>\n

Personally I prefer the latter \u2014 there is nothing more annoying than sunscreen half melting down your face while you sweat.<\/p>\n

Now I apply it once (on my face) and wear a hat for the rest of the day. Believe me when I say I have never really burned since.<\/p>\n

(Disclaimer<\/strong>: it is still advisable to use sunscreen and protect yourself properly \u2014 the sun is more dangerous than you think.)<\/p>\n

Besides the Protection<\/strong> these hats are also pleasantly light<\/strong>. You won’t get the experience of a cheap tourist hat that turns hot the moment the sun hits it.<\/p>\n

Because good panama hats still let tiny amounts of air through, they are breathability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

That matters in a good summer hat, so it does not get too warm to wear.<\/p>\n

The fit of this hat can feel slightly larger than usual.<\/p>\n
