The making of the authentic Laulh\u00e8re beret rests on a tradition and expertise built up over more than 180 years.<\/p>\n<p>The beret is a French emblem, worn through its history by all sorts of public figures: actors, athletes, musicians and writers. It travelled internationally in part through sailors and explorers setting out from the Basque Country.<\/p>\n<p>Across the twentieth century the way the beret was worn changed: from farm worker to factory worker, from figures of Parisian street culture (the titi) to the jazz scene of the Quartier Latin, and from early film stars to political figures and well-known singers.
