“The artist” unique summer cap Derby S.

This unique summer cap is, as we say in Antwerp, “ne specialeke” — a one-off. Not in a bad way, thankfully: to my eye it looks like a watercolor painting.

I named this cap “The artist” for that reason, and because I think it has something artistic about it. It is not really a cap for every day, or for everyone.

The playful patterns on the cap add character and are part of its charm.

Like “The handler”, the cap is based on the traditional flat cap, only less flat and made with a little more volume.

If you like traditional shapes, this cap will suit you without looking dated.

The lining, like the cap itself, is 100% cotton — a good cloth for summer.

The one thing to watch when ordering is that it runs slightly smaller than indicated (about half a size).

So it is best to take one size larger than you normally wear.
